Software Engineer

Location: Cambridge, UK
Salary: £30k–£45k plus an extensive benefits package
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, flexible hours
Start: ASAP

We are looking for a world-class Software Engineer to join our SQL Tools Division and help us achieve our goal of dominating the SQL Tools market. As part of one of our cross-functional project teams you will help us to develop our existing and new products with some of the most skilled and dynamic engineers, testers, authors and user experience specialists in the business.

What we’re looking for:

  • A good degree (2:1 or higher) preferably in Computer Science, from a good university
  • A very good theoretical and practical background in computing
  • A genuine passion for building great software and deep knowledge of the issues involved in the entire lifecycle of a project
  • Excellent C# skills and knowledge of the .NET framework or significant java or C/C++ experience
  • Solid object-oriented design skills
  • Experience in an environment building software products for sale (rather than in-house development)
  • Experience in an agile development environment would be an advantage
  • Able to demonstrate excellent team working ability

It would be a significant advantage if you also have:
• Strong working knowledge of SQL Server and T-SQL
• Experience working closely with testers, technical authors and user experience specialists
